5567. Willie Nelson & Ray Price - Crazy Arms
From: San Antonio Rose; Year:1980; Genre: Country Swing |
I've been thinking about Willie Nelson and his music recently. As far as I know I have only chosen something from his only once prior, which was when he was part of the outlaw country supergroup The Highwaymen that also included superstars: Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Chris Kristofferson.
Anyway, this is a re-recording/cover of the hit originally released by Ray Price back in 1956. For me that rhythm section doing that swing rhythm is one of the main draws for me, but by far the largest draw for me is the one and only legend Buddy Emmons doing a simply amazing lead on the pedal steel guitar.
