From: Where Did Our Love Go; Year: 1964; Genre: R&B/Soul/Motown
It seems every time I have a song by The Supremes or Diana Ross come on without realizing it I turn the volume way up and just bask in the beautiful sounds of their vocals and the incomparable music of the one and only Funk Brothers. What a combination of two of the best musical forces in the last century; you'd have to be bereft of a soul in my personal opinion to not enjoy this.

From: In a Sentimental Mood ; Year: 1989; Genre: Swing/Big Band Jazz Had this song on my mind since yesterday; quite a catchy and upbeat track to say the least. This one is a standard from during the height of The War, originally written by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer. From wot I understand the title and main idea of the song was borrowed from a sermon by a popular preacher at the time, Father Divine , which translated very well into an upbeat song. Anyway, I have had this concept record by Paul Kantner and company on my mind off and on over the last bit and decided now would be a good time to choose another track from it. This is the "grand finale" of the "space opera" concept, which features a big group of who's who from the folk rock scene at the time contributing on this track and a few others. Starship features the lead guitar of the late-great Jerry Garcia, although you really wouldn't need to be told that because it is so obvious his sound and style.
