I discovered yet another excellent band that I've only picked one song from: Hallo Venray. You don't hear this band much, if at all here in The States, but they should be heard definitely. If it wasn't for my fellow bloggers Woordenaar and Arthur I would never have been introduced to bands such as this that are famous outside the U.S..
Anyway, this one sounds similar to the rock that was popular at the same time here in America, still has its own distinct sound.

This one is a standard from during the height of The War, originally written by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer. From wot I understand the title and main idea of the song was borrowed from a sermon by a popular preacher at the time, Father Divine , which translated very well into an upbeat song. Anyway, I have had this concept record by Paul Kantner and company on my mind off and on over the last bit and decided now would be a good time to choose another track from it. This is the "grand finale" of the "space opera" concept, which features a big group of who's who from the folk rock scene at the time contributing on this track and a few others. Starship features the lead guitar of the late-great Jerry Garcia, although you really wouldn't need to be told that because it is so obvious his sound and style.
