Again, I'm very surprised of the bands that I have not picked a song from yet; I like Golden Earring, so it's definitely surprising.
Anyway, this is probably my favourite song from the band; as a bass player it's one of those songs where you get to show off a bit when covering the song, so yeah it's fun. It's a well-done song all around musically and with the great story being told in the lyrics.

    Great band! Also check out their 70's stuff, albums like Moontan or Contraband, it's even better.

Anyway, I have had this concept record by Paul Kantner and company on my mind off and on over the last bit and decided now would be a good time to choose another track from it. This is the "grand finale" of the "space opera" concept, which features a big group of who's who from the folk rock scene at the time contributing on this track and a few others. Starship features the lead guitar of the late-great Jerry Garcia, although you really wouldn't need to be told that because it is so obvious his sound and style.
