5902. Jethro Tull - Mrs. Tibbets

From: The Zealot Gene; Year: 2022; Genre: Progressive Rock/Hard Rock
This one, which opens the record, reminds me a lot of the mid '80s 'Tull songs in energy and the blend of darker, sinister sounds with very upbeat moods; considering the subject matter, it definitely fits. The titular character, Mrs. Tibbets or Enola Gay Tibbets, is of course the mother of Brigadier General Paul Tibbets who piloted the (in)famous B-29 Superfortress that he named in honour of her, that dropped the atom bomb Little Boy on the city of Hiroshima at the end of the Japanese theater of World War II. Again, I really like the the choice of sounds and their colours as well as Ian's lyrics, which go deeper into it than most.
