From: Jazz; Year: 1978; Genre: Progressive Rock
Had this record both on my mind and playing a lot the last couple of days; wot better song to pick than the opening track? Anyone that follows or has read some of this blog probably already knows how I like blends of different forms, schools of thought, or just flat-out weird music; this track somewhat fits that category. These four legendary musicians never cease to amaze, I love the way they mixed their own form of hard rock with Arabic/Middle Eastern music. At times, especially earlier in the song, reminds me heavily of the Flamenco sub-genre of Flamenco Arabe.
