I've been meaning to pick something from Hawaiian steel guitarist extraordinaire Bud Tutmarc for a while now, and with every day that winter continues to hold on Hawaiian music such as what he played becomes sweeter to listen to. Anyway, this is a tune that I've been meaning to learn on the steel guitar, which is also one of the more difficult, but fun nevertheless.
There is an interesting bit of musical trivia concerning Bud Tutmarc: his father, Paul Tutmarc, who was also an accomplished musician, created what is thought to be the first electric bass guitar

    Sorta like Hawaiian bluegrass. Not bad!

    A former co-worker has retrieved an old blog export file from my old work computer, from around March of '09. So I now have roughly my first year and a half of articles. Hey, it's better than nothing.

    But boy did I screw the pooch on that. I should have been doing those exports once a month at least.

      That's awesome that you were at least able to get a bit of your blog back! Does this mean you're thinking about blogging again? That would be cool; with both you and Woordenaar doing Song-a-Day blogs it would be like old times again. All we'd need is for Arthur to start up his blog again.

      Anyway, yeah, I gotten into the habit of backing up my blog on a weekly basis; with all of the time I've put into it I'd hate to lose it at this point.

From: Back Home Again ; Year: 1970; Genre: Rock/Folk Rock I guess I am finally picking this tune, which is definitely not my favourite from Norman Greenbaum, but it has its place and I do listen to it every now and then. From my experience Canned Ham is probably the only other song from Mr. Greenbaum that most people acquainted with his music after his epic Spirit in the Sky . Actually, when I do think about it, I would have to say that most of his material either borders on or is of a whimsical nature, which this one definitely is whimsical, if not bordering on novelty/comedy. I still cannot, for the life of me, why someone would want to fry a canned ham nice and brown and put it in one's pocket and carry it around? 1297 Vangelis - Blade Runner (End Titles) Dies ist Tag zwei of my theme week of picking songs from dormant or dead song a day blogs. This pick comes from The Heuristics Inc. or Bill's song a day blog ; it was pick #251 , posted on the 9th of July, 2007; (that would be a couple of months prior to me starting my own song a day blog.) From: Universal Audio ; Year: 2004; Genre: Indie Rock Songs from the defunct Scottish indie rock band the Delgados happened to randomly come on over the last week or so, you know wot that means. Anyway, this is one I thought I had already chosen, but evidentially not. I Fought the Angels has always been one of my to favourites from their final record. Open Letter To The Complete Lowlife Idiot(s) Who Filed a Copyright Infringement

Today I received notice that a blog post, number 100 to be exact , allegedly infringed upon someone's copyright. I have not been given any other information other than just that. What is odd here is that no one Else's actual "intellectual property" is even on my blog; I am unsure as to what it is referring to because everything in the post was either written by me, therefore my intellectual property, or is linked to another website. I am assuming that they are either mad about my links to the YouTube video with the song, (which belongs to someone Else's Google YouTube account), or perhaps the album artwork, which was hosted by another website. SINCE NO INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY NOT BELONGING TO ME EXISTS IN THE POST IN QUESTION OR ON MY BLOGGER ACCOUNT , I fully intend to file a counter-claim.
