I've had this classic track from the master composer Ennio Morricone on my mind for the last few days; I thought I would go ahead and pick it.
Kind of a simple melody for such an epic track and dare I say; "anthem," but it does exactly as needed and then some.

    To quote Spinal Tap: it's anthemic.
    I know this song for a long long time, my dad's a Joan Baez fan. I found the melody too simplistic and dull. I only knew it as "Here's to you".

This one is a standard from during the height of The War, originally written by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer. Anyway, I have had this concept record by Paul Kantner and company on my mind off and on over the last bit and decided now would be a good time to choose another track from it. This is the "grand finale" of the "space opera" concept, which features a big group of who's who from the folk rock scene at the time contributing on this track and a few others. Starship features the lead guitar of the late-great Jerry Garcia, although you really wouldn't need to be told that because it is so obvious his sound and style.
