5698. Jethro Tull - Ginnungagap
From: RökFlöte; Year: 2023; Genre: Progressive Rock/Hard Rock |
Kind of weird, but the fact that Ian Anderson and company were in the studio recording a brand new 'Tull album to be released in late April of this young year kind of flew under my personal radar so to speak. I'm not a huge social media user even when it comes to one of my favourite bands, so I guess it happened. From wot I can figure out, this is going to be a semi-concept album or have a couple of loose themes that the songs play on; one is apparently Norse Folklore/Old Religious themes and the seems to be about the "Rock Flute." They went all Blue Öyster Cult/Motörhead with the album's title with the use of umlauts on the "o"s and also used references to the Norse term Ragnarok as well as using the German spelling for flute in the title; kind of fun and delightfully pretentious all at the same time!
Anyway, I just happened to see this video of the song had just been uploaded yesterday, so I immediately had to pick it.
