From: Winter Solstice; Year: 1984; Genre: Folk
I've been getting kind of deep into December and haven't really yet picked anything Christmas or seasonal, so I'm doing it today.
This tune about the Christmas Truce of 1914 during World War I is rather powerful and stirring. John McCutcheon did a very good job bringing the emotional message and the imagery to the listener's mind's eye through the experience of the event told by a fictitious British soldier named Francis Tolliver.
