5540. Nazareth - Love Hurts
From: Hair of the Dog; Year: 1975; Genre: Rock/Blues Rock |
Nazareth's version of Love Hurts is one of those songs that most alive today who listen to mainstream music, (and/or have spent time slow dancing), have probably at some point been exposed to this track. Originally recorded by The Everly Brothers and later by Roy Orbison, which both are excellent, however, when the Scottish band Nazareth did their cover it more of less became the definitive version. They blended their great musicianship with a liberal helping of schmaltz to transform it into a monster power ballad.
